Dr. Dave Heaton graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1989 and has been practicing small animal medicine ever since then. 

He and Dr. Robbie Heather, also a veterinarian at the clinic, started Three Islands Veterinary Services in Bobcaygeon in 1991.

Dave has 3 children. Samantha, the eldest, having graduated with a Bachelor of Science at Guelph University and completing an Ottawa diploma in Human Medical Ultrasound, now works full time in Peterborough as a Medical Sonographer. (We could not convince her to ultrasound animals). Eric, who is now 22 years old is currently studying at Algonquin College in Ottawa to become a Paramedic. Sarah, the youngest, is in her second year of college in Belleville studying Spa Management and Anesthetics. She returns home most weekends to practice her latest skills on her family. Dr. Dave and family have lived in Bobcaygeon for 22 years.  Dave is picutred here with his sidekick, Pickle.  Dave's special outside interests include long distance cycling, hockey, badminton, canoeing, and kayaking. At the clinic, he enjoys office appointments with clients and pets but especially enjoys all types of surgery. He has had a special interest in dog and cat dentistry and oral cancer surgery for many years, performing upwards of 200 major oral/dental procedures per year.
